Hello, i've been testing out the challenge system and to be honest i cant understand WHY it`s not working.
Having around 7 years of MySQL Experience this kind of bummed me up since my answers did not work in your tests opposed to a real live db test. EDIT BY AQUILO: I understand that you are trying to make a point, but the evidence you used was the answer to some of the earlier questions in the test. We don't want to spoil this for our other users Neither sql statements worked and i gave up trying. Please specify WHY they did not since they are valid in any current MySQL version ( at least ver 3.0 to 5.1 ). Or if these sql statement questions are based on another Database Server / Database Technology please specify it in the lesson`s description! Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Micky. P.S. I realize this is my first post but take a look anyway. |

The SQL test is on an actual MySQL database. It is not simulated in anyway. Please check your answers again.
We cannot specify why your answers are not working because that would essentially be giving you the answer. May the Winds be with you. |

A correcting to Aquilo's post, we use SQLite databases for the challenges.
The syntax for SQLite as far as my knowledge goes is the standard SQL syntax. The only problem I can imagine is if you are not entering the correct table or field names. |

I'm having problems with the insert, update and delete... can't get them to work and I know I'm entering valid SQL-syntax.

There are indeed problems, I'm quit sure,
maybe the 'designer' from the chall, had something else in mind, but my method works fine too! Can I PM someone, to say what I think also is possible but doesn't work? Thanks! |

Yes we know it is broken, and we openly admit this...and we are trying to fix it, but we can't find why it doesn't work. Trust me, we are working on it...thank you for your concern though.
May the Winds be with you. |
