Ok so here is the story. My little brother had to type up some vocab and definitions for school. He typed them on his computer upstairs. I have the (non-networked) printer downstairs. He proceeded to email me the vocab in a .txt format. It took a lot longer than normal to receive the email and when I got it I was alerted to a virus in the attachment. I then went up to the computer that the work was done on to copy the original to a spare sd card I had lying around only to find 74 pages of this stuff.

I ask because I'm not sure if there is a security vulnerability in my network or if something screwy just happened and the file got corrupted or something. Thanks for the time. P.S. if anyone wants to take a look at the email with "virus" i can forward it to you I can also attach the full 74pg file of random crap if that helps with anything. Just let me know

I think you should check the character encoding on the file... Sometimes it gets put into the wrong format and that happens.. Also, some printers will print "random code" as everyone in my school calls it
But really its printing the document in a different encoding. Freaky Transvestite Paradox = FTP |

ok... how would one go about changing the character encoding on a notepad document? I guess I'm more curious of how exactly it got changed in the first place. And then would a character encoding change also add 72 pages to the original document???

open notepad, go to file, save as
then all the way under the filename, it should say encoding and have a drop down menu. Change the encoding to something different and see what happens? I dont think it would add 72 pages.. but who knows? Freaky Transvestite Paradox = FTP |

ok... That's a no go. I tried changing the encoding to all of the options listed but nothing worked. All it did was make the file size bigger. It is currently saved as ANSI encoding I believe. Any other ideas?
P.S. why does your info say you were last seen 9 years ago!!??

First of all it may be a virus i don't exclude it so give a scan to your bro machine.
Also about char encoding yes it may fuck up the text when viewed with something that do not support that type of encoding. To not forget what makes me think it may be a virus is the fact that the N pages have been added or it may be because of a mail client/mail virus scanner I wana take a looks so forward both the mail and the N pages file into a ZIP file to my mail, if u still have them(see profile for my mail) ~Dr.Optix MMORPGs are like drugs please don't do the mistake to try them, I did and now I regret.

replayed to the mail and thanx i'm gona make some tests on that piece of bytes
